Life in the trenches Gallipoli 9/5/1915 Dear Ma It's winter now!Many things are frozen, when we sleep our blankets,hands, legs and pillows are frozen.And our rifle guns are frozen and we can't trigger them. 1,000 people had been evacuated and many more are injured and killed. There was a raging storm a few nights back . It lasted a terrible 2 days. It was viciously cold like a person trapped in an iceberg, the turks kept firing but we survived. We could only eat frozen things, soldier biscuits you couldn't eat they were even more solid rock than ever. My mouth, my tastebuds were gone it was like I had never eaten before! I hope I survive this vicious war. Love Kareena
